Cultural Celebration
At Camp Brook Farm

This Saturday, October 12, Bethel’s Camp Brook Farm again hosts a cultural celebration of music and art.

The paintings of Beth Thayer of Craftsbury Common and Norm Christiansen of New York City will be on display and sale starting at 1 p.m., with an artists’ reception at 4:30 p.m.

While Thayer’s ethereal landscapes echo her Inuit heritage and visions, Christiansen’s work blends the techno-static of the city with his Vermont experiences and dreams. Both artists employ vivid color and crisp design. Together their work creates a contrast of perception as dazzling as our peak foliage.

The reception hours at Camp Brook bring on the musical talent of Barkin’ Dog and their rock-and-roll dance tunes featuring vocalist Stephanie Jones who also appears with the Funky Miracle Band.

Then, Abdul Baki returns with his band and original reggae sound including Nyabinghi drumming and selections from his newest CD to round out the day’s activities.

The festivities are free and open to the public, donations to be accepted for the bands.

Camp Brook Farm is on Route 12, north of Bethel.

Further viewings of the exhibit may be arranged by appointment, 234-6642.
