Gifford Medical Center Welcomes
New Primary Care Provider

Gifford Medical Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Robert C. Kiess to its staff. Dr. Kiess is the family practice physician chosen for the soon-to-open Sharon Health Center.

Dr. Kiess brings over 35 years of experience in primary care to Sharon. A graduate of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York, Dr. Kiess practiced medicine in Oklahoma before settling down with a multi-specialty physicians’ group in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He also served as an Associate Professor Department of Family Practice at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Reading, Penna.

Despite a very busy practice in Massachusetts, Dr. Kiess decided that it was time for a change, and Vermont was an easy choice, since his married daughter has lived in Barnard for many years and he wanted to move closer to her family. When he visited Gifford Medical Center and interviewed with Dr. Lou DiNicola, he knew Gifford and Sharon Health Center would be the perfect fit for him.

"I’m very excited to offer family health care to the Sharon community," said Dr. Kiess. "Gifford is providing me the opportunity to practice high quality primary care in a great community. I’m building a home in Strafford and looking forward to being part of the area community. I want to have the time to get to know the people I care for."

The Sharon Health Center is still under construction, so Dr. Kiess will begin seeing patients Monday, Aug. 1 at both Gifford Primary Care in Randolph and the Bethel Health Center in Bethel. He will see patients on Monday in Randolph and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays he will be at the Bethel Health Center. Dr. Kiess plans to welcome patients to the new Sharon Health Center this fall.

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Kiess, call Gifford Primary Care at 728-2442 or Bethel Health Center at 234-9913.
