Messier Farm Has For the second time since the award has been granted, the prestious Howe Trophy for Supreme Dairy Cow has gone to a Randolph farm. The recipient is Messier Indro Pearl, who was born three years ago at the farm, a hillside farm at the intersection of the Salt Box Road and Rogers Road, run by Janet Messier and her son David and grandsons Eric, Jason, and Dustin. The big Holstein was shown at the fair by 18-year-old Dustin. The Messiers purchased the farm 1974 from Arthur Galarneau, Janet Messier noted this week. The only other Supreme Dairy Cow from Randolph was raised on the Gordon Conant Farm on the East Bethel Road. The Conant farm continues to exhibit and do well at the fair (see this year's list of winners). The Howe Trophy is sponsored by Alan and Rob Howe. |
