Run Record to 7-0

Last Friday, Sept. 16, the Rochester girls had a outstanding game against Concord, winning 6-1.

With 16 minutes left to go in the first half, Katelyn Bowen took a corner kick and Bailey Harvey was there to head it into the goal. Another score came with 11 minutes left as Libby White chipped it over to Sam Cutting who was there for a sweet shot into the goal. Just one minute later, Heather Gorton passed it to Cutting who was there again to put it in the net.

Rochester came out strong in the second half and scored seven minutes in. Cutting hit it to Harvey in the six-yard box and bounced it off the goalie and back to her and put it in. Erica Parker had a great run up the middle of the field and a good shot with a hand ball against Concord. Parker took the shot and put it right above the Concord goalie’s hands. Rochester’s last goal was scored by Heather Gorton, who put Rochester up 6-0.

Rochester had a goalie change and put in Midori Cruikshank, who had six saves and only let one goal in.

3-1 Win

Rochester played against Chelsea on Tuesday away. The Rochester girls started off lagging, but then quickly got into it when Harvey dribbled the ball down the left side and sent it into the other side of the goal. At 32 minutes in, Harvey crossed it in and Gorton was there to head it down and get the goal.

After half time, Rochester’s defense was taken by surprise and Chelsea scored, making it 2-1. Rochester upped their intensity and 18 minutes in, Harvey kicked the ball in the middle and Gorton was there to gather it up and take it away from the defense. Gorton turned and took the shot and it went right past the goalie, making the final score 3-1.

Goalie Jody Martin had 20 saves. Rochester will play West Rutland at home on Friday.
