Alexander Gordon

VERSHIRE—Alexander M. Gordon, 83, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. He was born July 1, 1922 in Philadelphia, Penna., the son of Michael and Sarah Gordon.

He attended school in Pennsylvania and graduated from high school. In 1942 he married Anna Elizabeth Leigh. They lived in Doylestown, Penna., for many years before moving to Vershire to be closer to their daughter. In Pennsylvania, he was a house painter and a bartender for many years.

His passion in life was painting and carving. "Pop," as he was called by his grandchildren, will always be in his grandchildren’s hearts and they will see him in his art work.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Elizabeth (Betty) Leigh of Vershire; his grandchildren, Derrick Osgood, Patrick Osgood, Brian Gordon, Jeffrey Gordon, Christopher Gordon, and Eliz-abeth Laubscher.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Carol Quaglini.

There are no public calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home on Main Street in Chelsea.
