Beverly D. Chartier

GRANITEVILLE—Beverly D. Chartier, 70, of Graniteville, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

She was born July 10, 1935 in Chelsea, the daughter of J. Leo and Ruth (English) Dumont. She attended East Granville schools and graduated from Randolph High School in 1953. Following her education, she worked at National Life in Montpelier. She married Joseph Chartier Dec. 4, 1954 in Braintree.

After raising five daughters, she returned to work at Sprague Electric in Barre and later at Bombardier in Barre Town, where she worked in the cafeteria. She also babysat for her grandchildren. During high school, she belonged to the Rainbow Girls and served as Worthy Advisor in 1953. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 10 in Barre. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, listening to country music, and dancing.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph Chartier of Graniteville; five daughters: Debra Pecor of Poquoson, Va.; Candy Wasileuskas of Lowell, Mass.; Susan Paronto of Graniteville, Denise Ouellette of Barre Town, and Michele Washburn of Barre; a sister, Gloria Lewis of Williamstown; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Edith Dumont.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, Nov. 21 at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, with Pastor James Lake officiating, and special music by Gene Firth. Remembrances were shared by Beverly’s daughter, Debra Pecor.

Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery in Williamstown. Pallbearers were David Pecor, Sr.; David Pecor, Jr.; Joseph Pecor, Jeff Paronto, Sr.; Jeff Paronto, Jr.; and Brian Ouellette.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
