The first half of Tuesday’s home game between the Randolph Gal Ghosts and Oxbow was pretty slow, with the score closer to a softball game than a basketball game. Randolph used 22 steals in the second half to pull a 17-14 halftime score into a 51-30 win.

Rachel DiStefano led off the third quarter with a hoop followed by a bucket from Brynn Fabian. DiStefano and Laura Koloski each added a basket for a Randolph edge of 26-15. DiStefano had a good rebounding quarter and a perfect nine-for-nine from the charity stripe.

Randolph’s swarming defense kept the ball out of Oxbow’s hands in the third and only allowed the away team to add five. The score at the end of the third was 34-19, Randolph, with Brynn Fabian ending the quarter with a steal and a hoop at the buzzer.

The fourth started off with a bang with a steal from Emily Howe that gave Fabian the chance to nail a shot from downtown. Oxbow added four points but Randolph matched that with two freebies from DiStefano and a side jumper from Anna Reis.

Koloski kept the offense moving with two baskets, the second off a steal from Morgan Stewart, for a 45-35 lead. Gwen Reis came in off the bench and chipped in a shot and the game ended with a flurry of fouling shooting.

There was no scoring from either team in the first half of the first quarter. Oxbow hit a trey to break the ice, which DiStefano matched with a traditional three-point play. DiStefano retied the game at 5-5 and the first ended with a foul shot by Koloski.

Coach Al Stewart said after the game, "It’s a win, it was ugly but it was a win. We need to get back in sync and start playing like we were before."

Scoring for Randolph were Di-
Stefano with a double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds and 6 steals, Koloski had 14 points, Fabian 8, the Reis sisters each added 4 and Howe had 2.

Loss to U-32

The Gal Ghosts lost to the U-32 Raiders away last Friday, 41-33.

The first quarter was again a very low scoring one with U-32 leading 8-5, thanks to turnovers and a tough Raider’s defense.

U-32 continued to stay out of Randolph reach in the second and outscored the Gal Ghosts 14-9 in the second. Howe provided five of those points, but it was clear that Randolph was not playing their best game. The Raiders headed into the break up 22-14.

Randolph came out of the break fired up with Koloski hitting a jumper just 12 seconds into the third. A trey from Koloski brought the Gal Ghosts within five, 24-19. Sharayah Nonemacher got the rebound and muscled the ball into the hoop followed by a Koloski hoop, bringing Randolph within one with three minutes left in the quarter. U-32 closed the third with a hoop and the 26-23 edge.

U-32 scored the first four points of the fourth. A. Reis came back into the game after sitting with her fourth foul and got Randolph on the scoreboard. Back-to-back three-pointers from DiStefano and A. Reis brought Randolph back within one again, 32-31.

U-32 added three points but another jumper from DiStefano kept Randolph in reach. With time running out the Gal Ghosts were forced to foul but the Raiders scored the final six points of the game from the foul line to take the eight point victory.

U-32’s high scorer was #13 Kylie Cowens with 19 points.

Scoring for Randolph were Di-
Stefano with another double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Koloski added 9, A. Reis 7, Howe 5 and Nonemacher 2.

J.V. Games

The J. V. girls came back at the end of the game but lost to U-32 37-22. The high scorer was Andrea Chase with 6.

The girls also lost to Oxbow, 49-34. The high scorers were Holly Mugford with 11 and Hannah Becker with 10.
