Rochester Boys Get 1 Loss & 1 Win The Rochester boys went to Twinfield on Friday and played a very good first quarter and were only down 20-12. It seemed as though Twinfield was going to outscore Rochester every time. The Rockets kept pushing Twinfield and made some really nice runs, but lost the game, 68-53. High scorers were Brian Dunbar with 18 points and Chris Crete with 13 points. Websterville Game Rochester's next game was home against Websterville where Rochester played their best game yet. Rochester had trouble with a few long threes from the other team but shook it off and were only down 12-17 at the end of the first quarter. The rest of the game, Rochester played the game that everyone knew they had in them, allowing Websterville only four points in the second quarter with quick hands on defense. Offensively, Dunbar had an explosive quarter where he was seven-for-eight from the foul line and had two nice turn around jump shots. Two of his points came from the foul line because of a technical foul called on Websterville's coach who had apparent trouble with the referees the whole game. Rochester fans were great doing cheers almost every possession, which I think really helped the boys boost their confidence. The Rochester boys led at the half, 28-21. Rochester really kept up their intensity. The third and fourth quarters were filled with great defense from Rochester especially from Forrest Patterson who had quite a few steals. Also on defense Rochester did a good job denying Websterville's key three-point shooter who had no threes in the second half. Rochester continued playing well and won the game 53-41. High scorers were Dunbar with 20 points, and Patterson with 10. By Dayna Bourassa |
