Rochester Girl's
Get Two Big Wins
By Dayna Bourassa

Last Saturday the Rochester girls hosted the Craftsbury Charger's and dominated the entire game. Right from the beginning Rochester scored quick baskets and played tight defense. Everyone off Rochester's bench got to play, and Midori Cruikshank had seven big points off the bench.

The game's final score was 64-37; high scorers were Sam Mishkit with 28 points and Jody Martin with 11.

Win Over T’field

Rochester hosted the long awaited re-match game against Twinfield, who had defeated Rochester in Twinfield by a mere six points. Rochester knew that they didn't play their game in Twinfield and were determined to beat them on their own turf and they did just that, winning 58-49.

Right from the beginning Rochester had good solid offense and played tight defense and through the first quarter it was both teams scoring equally every time up the court, with Rochester up by one 17-16 at the end of the first quarter.

The same happened in the second quarter; Rochester had trouble protecting the ball but managed to keep up with the Trojans. It was tied 29-29 at the half.

The end of the third quarter was when Rochester lit up their offense and closed their defense keeping their longest lead of the game, and were ahead 44-39 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was dominated by Rochester making key baskets and even bigger shots from the free throw line, where they were 10-for-12.

It was another amazing performance by sophomore Sam Mishkit—scoring 28 points for the second game in a row and hitting 10-for-10 from the free throw line; helping her out was Sam Cutting who added 10 for Rochester. Rochester's record is now 14-3.
