The sun shown, brightly and unexpectedly, on the Vermont History Expo at the Tunbridge Fairgrounds Saturday and again on Sunday.

More than 100 historical societies from Vermont towns mounted impressive exhibitions, as did various other historical organizations around the state.

Impersonations of important people fascinated audiences.

Several "re-enactment" companies showed in graphic detail what it used to be like to serve in various wars.

Entertainment flowed from two sources at once, all day long.

"Heritage animals"—breeds that are seldom seen any more—were displayed by the cattle barns.

Computers helped visitors discover geneological secrets while computer scanners copied old photos for visitors and for the state archives.

And finally—the Orange County Sugarmakers provided the best maple cotton candy you can imagine.
