Bernie Needs No
Training Wheels

During a rally in Pittsfield, Rich Tarrant, the Republican candidate for the U.S Senate, reassured the few in attendance that his 35 years as a C.E.O. in a software company (IDX) qualified him to represent Vermont in the senate.

His plan for health care is based on loose statistics and seems as cute as his metaphor for getting the Iraqis to take control of their country.

The Iraq army was compared to a child learning to ride a bike. Start with training wheels (or a U.S. led invasion), then take them off, he says, and you know they'll fall; but you'll also know they'll get back on. I feel the real issues aren't as cute or as simple as this, especially when it could be an I.E.D that knocks you off the bike.

Tarrant's 35 years experience at IDX hasn't prepared him for the real issues that need to be addressed during this anything but "cute" time for the U.S.A. He may be qualified to represent the interests of IDX but when it comes to Vermont, I'd like to see the candidate with the most political experience get the job.

Maybe Tarrant is just getting his training wheels taken off, but we all know Bernie can ride a bike to Washington.
