Annual Randolph Little League
Picnic, Festivities and Awards
By Jill D. Montgomery

The Randolph area softball and baseball Little League Organization held their end of the year picnic and fun day Saturday, June 24. The day started with the championship baseball game between the Red Sox and the Mets. This was a rematch of last year’s game with the Red Sox winning again this year.

The annual cookout followed with the Babe Ruth baseball coaches, John Dyer, Rob Start and Brent Maxfield doing the cooking and David Maxfield helping out. Approximately 225 people were on hand for the festivities. The cookout was followed by awards, All-Star annoncements, the popular dunk booth, a radar gun to time the kid’s throws run by Orange County deputy Bill Bohnyak and the home run derby.

The end of the year raffle was again a big success with Jared Tucker selling the most tickets again this year. Jared plays in the Randolph Babe Ruth League.

The Board of Directors would like to thank all the business that donated prizes and all the people that bought tickets. The top three prizes and winners were: CFM gas grill Sharon Gallo, the Granite Coffee Table Jared Tucker and the Picnic Table donated by School St. Business Service Linda Gaidys.

The day of the picnic was sunny and warm, a real bonus in this year of endless rain. Everyone’s participation and help was greatly appreciated.
