Doreen Hatch

CHELSEA—Doreen "Tink" Hatch, 72, died Sunday. Aug. 27, 2006 at her home in Chelsea.

She was born July 29, 1934 in Chelsea, the daughter of Arthur Paul and Flossie (Dumont) Morey. She attended school in Chelsea. She married Willard "Bill" Hatch of Chelsea July 31, 1954, and they lived there all their married life. He died December 20, 1974.

For over 40 years, she worked as a machinist at H.E.B. Manufacturing Co. in Chelsea, before retiring in 2004. She was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed playing cribbage and Yahtzee, puzzles, dancing, gardening, making jam and pickles, canning vegetables, and spending time with her family and friends. She was everything to her family, a mother, Dad, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include three sons: Ted Hatch of Chelsea, Bill Hatch of South Royalton, and Paul Hatch of West Warren, Mass.; four daughters: Cindi Kennedy of Mt. Dora, Fla.; Paula Spinella of Woodbury, Conn.; Carol Rymut of Waterbury, Conn.; and Linda Jellison of Lebanon, N.H.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a sister, Katherine O’Donnell of Fairlee; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Morey of East Montpelier; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, a brother, Arthur Paul Morey, Jr.; and two sisters, Pauline Cahill and Jean Metcalf.

Calling hours were held Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home on Main Street in Chelsea. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Chelsea, with Richard Dumont officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Alliance of Vermont & New Hampshire, 20 South Main Street, White River Jct., Vt. 05001.
