BETHEL–Ramona A. Davis, 74, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Cen-ter in Lebanon, N.H. She was born November 28, 1931 in Bethel, the daughter of Vicente and Eva (Fumagalli) Cruz. She attended Bethel schools and graduated from Whitcomb High School in 1949. Following her education she worked as a teller at the White River Valley National Bank in Bethel. She later worked at Fyles & Rice in Bethel and at Weyerhauser, in Hancock, until her retirement in 1995. She married Fred "Pickle" Davis February 12, 1955 in Randolph. He died in 2004. She loved playing cards, reading, playing Bingo, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Survivors include a son, Charles Davis of Randolph; three daughters: JoAnn Marshall and husband, Douglas, of Bethel; Ellen Davis of Bethel, and Sandra Davis of Charlestown, N.H.; three brothers: Robert Cruz of Sharon, Harry Sargent, Jr. of Bethel and Henry Sargent of Sanford, Me.; three sisters: Gloria Denny of Newport, Marjorie Mazzitelli of Brasher Falls, N.Y.; and Shirley Bolanowski of Shelby Township, Mich.; six grandchildren: Douglas Marshall, Sean, Bobbi Jo, Samantha, Kimberly and Danielle Davis; and two great-grandchdaughters: Alassandrea Marshall and Alexis Davis. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Bollman. Funeral service were held Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Pastor Thomas Harty officiated. Phyllis Hawley was the organist. Ramona’s niece, Melissa, read "A Letter to Aunt Ramona" and Tom Harty read "Don’t Think I Do Not Grieve." Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. The pall bearers were Robert Cruz, Henry Sargent, Harry Sargent, Jr., Sean Davis, Douglas Marshall, Keith Bowman and Ray Lewko. A reception was held at the home of JoAnn and Douglas Marshall. Friends may make contributions to the Vermont Assn. for the Blind & Visually Impaired (VABVI), 37 Elmwood Ave., Burlington, Vt. 05401. Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph. ____________ |
