End the Madness

I believe sending Peter Welch of the upper valley to the U.S. House of Representatives is the best way to put America on the right course into the future.

Peter Welch has ably represented my interests in Montpelier for years and is thoroughly knowledgeable about all issues that affect us working families—ending deficit spending and tax breaks for the wealthy, ensuring a secure energy future, fixing Medicare so America’s seniors benefit, not big drug and insurance companies, etc.

When you have a terrific family and career you don’t spend years working in the Legislature for the glory of it. Peter has been reëlected time and again by his constituents because he has shown us the passion and talent it takes to be effective on our behalf. The Peter Welch I know is ready to go to Washington, DC to continue to represent the interests of Vermont.

His opponent, Martha Rainville, has my admiration for her military service. My dad is a veteran and I hold in the highest regard Americans who serve this country in the greatest possible way: putting their own lives on the line. But Rainville has not distanced herself from the madness we’ve had under the Bush Administration. (What part of it is working for you?)

In fact, she has proudly appeared on her campaign trail with Barbara and Laura Bush. An ominous sign to me, and I hope to you.
