Natalie Kenyon

WEST LEBANON, N.H.— Natalie A. Kenyon, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was born January 24, 1931 in Sharon, the daughter of Fred S. and Celia (Preston) Lyman.

She attended the one room school house on Howe Hill in Sharon and later graduated from South Royalton High School. On June 10, 1950 she married John W. Kenyon at their family’s farm on Howe Hill. They lived for two years in Gaysville, where her husband worked in a logging camp. They later moved to Sharon for four years and Wilder for 10 years, before moving to West Lebanon, N.H.

She ran a childcare business out of her home for over 20 years, where she cared for over 35 children. She also had worked at a bakery in Hanover and McDonald’s in West Lebanon.

She was a Cub Scout leader in Wilder, a member of the Sharon and Pomona Grange. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, snowmobiling, hunting, gardening and Sunday drives. Her great love was for her family and any children.

Survivors include two sons: Dennis Kenyon of Plainfield, N.H. and Roger Kenyon of Lebanon, N.H.; a daughter, Janice Peck of Grafton, N.H.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Martha Fisk of Sharon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband on June 9, 2004; four brothers: Albert Lyman, Kenneth Lyman, Wendell Lyman, and Walter Lyman; two sisters: Sibyl West and Shirley Kenyon; and two half sisters: Marion Dobbins and Gwendolyn Smith

Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home on Main Street in Chelsea. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Sharon Congregational Church, with Rev. Rebecca Delzell officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon.
