Royals Go To 4-4 With Loss

By Nathan McShinsky

On October 2nd the Royals’ boys team took the quick trip to Orford to play the Rivendell Raptors after they were rained out three days before. The rain didn’t stop for the Royals though, and they took their second straight loss, 4-2.

The McCarthy brothers finally took a win away from SoRo as they both played key factors in the game with a goal and an assist. It was their first in a long rivalry with SoRo.

The Royals scoring consisted of a Jack Murphy goal on a Darren Slack assist and Tyler Manning added another goal to his team leading tally.

The Royals goalie Dave Mattern had a bit of an off night, but the Royals (4-4) and Mattern looked to get back their lost momentum and get back above .500 on Wednesday when Stratton Mountain came down to visit. SoRo plays Burke on Saturday.
