Another Win for Lady Royals
By Monica Parshley

The South Royalton girls continued their three game winning streak at Rivendell on Monday, Oct. 2, beating the opposing team 2-0. Their record now is five wins, four losses.

As in the previous three games, the girls played well together. Callie Jozefiak and Jane Manby controlled the mid-field defense, always getting the ball to the forwards. On mid-field offense, Alex Honkala, Jozefiak, and Manby worked well. Honkala played man-to-man and shut down one of Rivendell's top players.

South Royalton shot 19 times on goal, their top shooter was Mairi Lamson with seven shots, with one of them making the first goal of the game. The second goal was made by Heather Burbine during the second half of the game. Rivendell shot twice on goal, their shots made by Casey McGuff and Megan Sweazin.

South Royalton's coach, Chuck Howe, said "The girls continue to play well as a unit." Their next game is to be played at home on Thursday, Oct. 5, at 4:30.
