140 Multi-Age Runners Participate The 26th annual Run for Health was held Saturday, Oct. 14, with 140 kids and adults participating in this year’s one-mile event. Run for Health brings together students from local area schools, including Randolph, Braintree, Brookfield, RUHS, Justin Morgan, and some home schooled students. Ribbons were awarded to all runners and students enjoyed water donated by Micro Path (VT Pure) and apples donated by Shaw’s supermarket. For 26 years, this event has involved students of all ages running a distance of one mile around the athletic fields behind the Randolph Union High School. All runners are awarded ribbons upon completion of their run with the emphasis on effort, perseverance, success, and accomplishment. Each year the students design a new Run for Health t-shirt with their art teachers Rebbie Carleton and Candy VandeGriek. This year’s design theme was "Animal Silhouettes" and the shirt colors were red with black and gold ink featuring many animals created by the third and fourth graders in art classes. Each year the shirts are made available for purchase at cost. The Run for Health is organized by Todd Keenhold, Physical Education teacher at the Randolph Elementary School.
