‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ South Royalton High School will present "The Diary of Anne Frank," directed by Louise Barreda Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. at the school. Based on the famous book by Anne Frank, about her family’s experience hiding from the Nazis during World War II, this dramatized version by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett will be presented in a dessert theater format. Prior to each performance, the 10th grade class will serve homemade desserts and coffee, tea, cider (included in the ticket price) and theatergoers will sit at tables during the performance. Proceeds will benefit the class. The cast, made up of SRHS students, includes Taylor Webster as Anne Frank, Miles Ellis as her father, Otto Frank; Karen Bascomb as her mother, Edith Frank; and Alex Honkala as her sister, Margot Frank. Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan and their son, Peter, will be played by Devin Noyes, Jane Mamby, and Ki Walker. Trevor Webster will portray Mr. Dussel, and the roles of Mr. Krahler and Miep, who brought news and food to the annex to help the Frank family, will be played by Jake Timian and Michelle Loomis. The set for "The Diary of Anne Frank" is being constructed by history teacher Brian Bry and a crew of students. Costumes, makeup and hair will also be done by volunteers from the cast and crew.
