Inspiring Support
For McLaughlin

In all the years that I have been involved in political campaigns, I have never seen anything quite so inspiring.

I am referring to the almost universal response to the fact that Rozo McLaughlin is recovering from abdominal cancer, and can't go door-to-door on her own behalf. The outpouring of people volunteering to go door-to-door for her is amazing and heart warming. More than 30 citizens of Royalton and Tunbridge have gone door-to-door on her behalf. Many are first timers, and some have consciously put aside their dislikes about the process just to help Rozo.

Just as impressive is the response of Rozo's fellow legislators. More than a dozen members of the House have joined in going door-to-door on her behalf, despite the fact that they too have to run for re-election. These selfless acts are more than expressions of friendship for Rozo—they are testimonials of respect for the job she is doing for us in Montpelier.

Most gratifying was the response from the voters. Most everyone knows Rozo. They mention her prior visits, they note how much Rozo appeared to enjoy visiting with them, and they ask how she is doing.

Many tell us about something Rozo has done to be of help to them. I feel lucky to have participated on Rozo's behalf.

We need Rozo back in Montpelier.
