RUHS Girls Out of Playoffs
By Rachel DiStefano

The Randolph varsity girls soccer team entered the play-offs with the 13th seed, and made the long trip to face the third seed Burr and Burton Academy. The Ghosts displayed great effort, and stayed with their opponent for the majority of the game, but could not hold on in the second half. Randolph lost 2-0 to the Bull Dogs, ending an exciting season.

The game was scoreless until just under 16 minutes to go in the second half. Sharayah Nonemacher, a dominating presence in goal, saved 13 shots for Randolph. After the game, Coach Bruce Viens was very happy with his team’s performance.

With this last game, Randolph graduates nine seniors: Sharayah Nonemacher, Emily Howe, Brynn Fabian, Shelby Peltier, Kelsey Inzer, Sherry Young, Morgan Stewart, Rachel DiStefano, and Kelsey Higgins. As for post-season recognition, Nonemacher was named to the Capitol League First Team, Howe to the Second Team, and juniors Bridget Harty and Erika Smith received Honorable Mention. The team would like to thank their coaches, Bruce Viens and Mike Czok, and their fans for all the support this season!
