We have known David Ainsworth as town moderator, a neighbor, farmer and friend. As a farmer, David has had to make tough and sometimes difficult decisions. It’s this background that will give David the ability to make many of the important decisions that are facing our state government today, such as school funding, increasing property tax burden, health care, energy, and improving the states business climate. His years of public service, from town moderator, library trustee, and Gifford Hospital trustee give David a keen sense of people and the effects on them by our local and state government. We feel this gives David a true feeling for the people he will represent in the district. As a neighbor and friend we have seen David there in times of need whether they be the simple things in life or the difficult times. We feel this characteristic is valuable and important to have in a representative because it says to us he is a people’s person. Vermont needs people like David in the legislature, people who have the courage make decisions that will stop excessive spending and to make progress on important issues that affect all of us.
