Time for Fiscal Responsibility

The Asteroid "Apophis-Costanzo," depending on one’s astronomical and political calculus, shall, in 20 years and at a trajectory 20,000 miles distant, pass-by, with "reasonable certainty," the orbit of Earth.

That is, coincidentally, the calculated time that it will take incumbent State Rep. Patsy French to get her work completed on health care, "We need to expand it, (cost?) but that takes time."

Now the State House is a nice place to spend the winter, where aspiring leaders to higher office, in pursuit of bragging rights, have deftly led their minions to pass incoherent and financially indeterminate bills such as the Catamount Health Plan.

In design is a protective lead-balloon for the State House to protect it from "Apophis-Costanzo" radiation. Retained hot-air shall be released only on selected days when the General Assembly is in session.

Prefabricated lead-balloons are predicted to be made available for the public by November 2008, on a lottery basis. If you already have a bomb shelter, do not apply.

Twenty-thousand miles is also the apparent distance that Ms. French happens to be from her constituents re: property taxes: "But it seems to me (French) that this is just the thing that they are supposed to be concerned about this year, sort of the ‘in thing’ this year." "‘IN THING’"—PROPERTY TAXES— FASHIONABLE?

How cavalier; how profoundly out-of-touch; where has Ms. French been for the past 25 years that she is so obviously oblivious to the plight of taxpayers to meet the ever increasing, punitive and confiscatory property taxes.

"It is time for a change:" Please consider challenger Bob Wolffe, and David Atkinson for state representative and Stephen Webster for state senator.

It is time for fiscal accountability.
