‘Club Galerie’ Event in Rochester "Club Galerie: Music with Dorothy Robson and Friends," an evening of live cabaret entertainment, wine, cheese, and chocolate will take place Friday, Nov. 24 with seatings at 6 & 8 p.m. at the BigTown Gallery on North Main St. in Rochester. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Pierce Hall Community Center. This evening with a European flair will feature an ensemble of performers including Dorothy Robson, Susan Rule, Carol Reed, Alan Moore, Judith Dry, and Dick Robson, who will present music that ranges from sultry to satirical, poignant to witty. The gallery will be transformed into an intimate Parisian club for this event, which is a part of Friday night happening series hosted by gallery owner Anni Mackay. There is limited seating available for each of the two shows. To make ticket reservations, call the gallery at 767-9670. "This evening is an opportunity for people to get dressed up and kick off the holiday season in the valley," notes Mackay. In addition to the entertainment, there will be a wine tasting with Jack Garvin of the Warren Store and chocolate desserts baked by Lesley Straus. Technical support for the event is being provided by Robert Finkle and other members of the White River Valley Players. Those attending will be able to view an exhibit of photographer Carin Inglasbe’s work showing vintage costumes from the New York City Ballet, the Stockholm ballet and European cabaret artists. Also on view and carrying out the theme of decorative arts, will be a display of unique knitted wire dresses created by Susan Freda.
