Inexplicable
Appointment

According to the Washington Post: "The Bush administration has appointed a new chief of family-planning programs at the Department of Health and Human Services who worked at a Christian pregnancy-counseling organization that regards the distribution of contraceptives as 'demeaning to women.'"

I am sharing this news with you because alone we can not change the course of this oppressive governing body but together we can. We need each others' help!

Our government has no right to decide contraception is demeaning to anyone! I am not a breeder! I am a human being with free will. I choose to take control of my reproductive life so that I can provide for myself and my family in the best way I know how. To be able to take charge of my life and live to the best of my abilities I also need to be able to choose the course of my reproductive health. And my mate needs to be able to participate in the choice in using contraception as well without feeling or being made to feel ashamed.

The power of choice needs to be in the hands of the person responsible for implimenting his or her own choice - not in the hands of goverments!

How can a person who thinks of contraception as "demeaning" be allowed to become the new-chief of family planning?

Who if benefiting from this placement?

I urge each person who cares about his or her reproductive health to express why they care!
