HS Players to College Rivals

Tuesday night at Norwich University in Andrews Hall in Northfield the Norwich University Lady Cadets opened the regular season against the Badgers from Johnson State College. The Cadets are led by former Hornet and Whitcomb High School graduate co-captain Sarah Chap, who had an eight-point, six-rebound evening in the 75-34 frolic. But that’s only half of the story.

It was a very lop-sided victory but one that did not come simply by being handed to the Cadets and that was most evident from the foul line. Former Chelsea Red Devil and current Badger Maureen Driscoll was nearly perfect from the line, going five-of-six and that was the one area that the Cadets were challenged and defeated at. Johnson College was 77% from the line while Norwich was only 57%. Also playing for the Badgers is former 1,000-pointer and Rochester Rockette Staci Cutting who produced a solid effort for Johnson.
