Each season nearly 1,000 "Ski Vermont" fifth graders head to Vermont ski areas where they can ski or ride for free more than 100 days as part of the "passport" program. This year marks the seventh year of the program. Passport holders also get coupons for one day of skiing at eight other participating state programs. Passport holders who already ski or ride can expand their love of the sport by exploring Vermont’s many diverse areas and visit resorts across the state. To receive a personalized Fifth Grade Passport, students should submit a completed application including proof of fifth grade status, a small picture and a $10 processing fee. Passport holders must be accompanied by a paying adult. Each adult may bring up to two Passport holders. Some restrictions may apply. Passports are valid Dec. 1 to May 1,excluding blackout dates. To download an application, go to the "Kidzone" at www.skivermont.com or call 802-223-2439. |
