Sophia May, 7 lbs., 3 oz., was born at Gifford Medical Center at 4:33 p.m. New Year’s Day—making her Gifford’s first birth of the New Year.

Her parents, Ingrid and Eric, drove from Ira to take advantage of the Gifford midwife program.

Sophia joins five older siblings.
