BRAINTREE—Alberta T. Thurston, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born March 9, 1924 in St. Albans, the daughter of William and Edna (Stover) Pierce. She attended St. Albans schools. She married George Thurston June 24, 1945 in St. Albans. The Thurstons lived in Roxbury and Randolph, before moving to Braintree in 1955. She had worked at Fritzell Toys, Randolph Furniture Co. and Ethan Allen, all in Randolph, until retiring in the late 1970s. She enjoyed painting with acrylics and attending the Adult Day Program in Bethel. Survivors include three sons: James Thurston of Hancock, Charles Thurston of Middlebury and Douglas Thurston of Randolph; two daughters, Gail Thurston of Randolph and Bonnie Davis of Braintree; a brother, Edgar Pierce of St. Albans; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and a son, George Thurston, Jr. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Day Funeral home in Randolph, with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Braintree at a later date. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph. ____________ |
