HANCOCK—Frank J. Mannix, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007 at the Helen Porter Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. He was born November 21, 1916 in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Anthony and Benigna (Domont) Mannix. He graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City, N.J. in 1934. He married Rita Krebs November 22, 1941 in Jersey City. He worked at the Harborside Terminal in Jersey City as a stationary engineer, in charge of the building’s power, heat and electricity, until retiring in 1979. The Mannix moved to Hancock in 1983. He enjoyed gardening and, in earlier years, was involved with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Survivors include his wife, Rita Mannix, and his daughter, Frances Mannix, both of Hancock; three sons: Walter Mannix of Hopatcong, N.J.; Michael Mannix of Bloomsbury, N.J.; and Joseph Mannix of Chester, Va.; a brother, Anthony Mannix of Cliffside Park, N.J.; a sister, Stella Blaney of Rockaway, N.J.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Mannix; a brother, Watson Mannix; and two sisters: Ann Beatty, Genevive Schlesler and Mary Wisniewski. A memorial mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Long Valley, N.J., Friday, Feb. 2 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: Helen Porter Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, 30 Helen Porter Drive, Middlebury, Vt. 05753.
