Two Good Games For Rochester Boys
By Liam McKinley

The varsity Rockets had a big win last week over UCA with a score of 66-47. Taylor Fuller scored 18 points including three treys, and Brian Dunbar scored 16.

The Rockets then hosted Poultney at home last Saturday. The last time Rochester played Poultney, the score was rather one sided and the Rockets were blown out on the road.

At first, Saturday’s game seemed to be headed in the same direction as Poultney took an enormous lead in the first half. But the Rockets weren’t about to lie down. They battled back and chipped away at Poultney’s lead and amazingly pulled within two at the end of the half.

With multiple lead changes in the second half the game remained very close and was tied as time expired. The Rockets committed a loose ball foul and Poultney had a chance to win, and they were able to score. The Rockets lost by one.

Dunbar led the Rockets in scoring with 20 points, Pat Crowley followed with 11, Dusty Roberts was good for 10 and Fuller added 9.

JV Squad

The Rockets JV lost their second game to Poultney this season as they were blown out at home this past Saturday. Liam McKinley led the Rockets with 14 points and 13 rebounds, (McKinley has now scored in double digits for 10 straight games), Alex Kelly contributed with eight points. Matt Brown who came off the bench was able to add a season high of nine, and Hugh Randall came alive in the second half with seven rebounds and impressive defensive hustle.

The Rochester JV beat the Harwood and SoRo freshmen recently but lost to CVA, and the SoRo JV.

Alex Kelly had a solid week averaging three APG, six PPG, and five RPG through the four games. McKinley also contributed with 13 PPG and eight RPG on the week.
