Frances B. Colby

BARRE—Frances B. Colby, 86, died January 27, 2007, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Barre.

She was born July 10, 1920, in Bridgewater, the daughter of Phillip H. Biathrow and Laura (Powell) Biathrow.

She was educated at the Riverside School in Bridgewater. She lived in Plymouth Kingdom for 42 years on the Colby Farm. Since 1981, she had been a volunteer for the Council on Aging and a senior companion at the Randolph Center and a member of the Mid-State Riding Club. She loved her horses and riding.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Colby of Plymouth; two daughters, Sandra Steele of Vershire and Irene Curtis of Bellows Falls; four grandchildren: Charles of Vershire, Susan and Earle of Bellows Falls, and Naomi of Springfield; many great-grandchildren; three brothers, Royal Biathrow of Pittsford, Henry Biathrow of Killington, and Murry Biathrow of Reading; two sisters, Marion Whitcomb of South Royalton and Myrtle Biathrow of Woodstock; cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Everett Curtis, and a sister, Juanita Biathrow.

A funeral service was held at the Cabot Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 31. Rev. Beverly Anderson, pastor of the Bridgewater Congregational Church, officiated. Burial was in the Heselton Cemetery in Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Vermont Humane Society, P.O. Box 687, Montpelier, Vt., 05601.

Arrangements were under the direction of The Cabot Funeral Home, 1 Rose Hill, Woodstock.
