Chelsea Boys Win Two

Coming off from a win the night before over Sharon, 48-37, the Chelsea Devils traveled to Division III power house Rivendell. Tough defense led the teams into the half with an 18-16 score, Chelsea down by two.

Unfortunately Rivendell’s tough defense proved to be too strong as the paint was shut down. By the end of the game the score was doubled, Rivendell winning, 46-28.

Sean McCarthy and Andrew Richardson were Chelsea’s high scorers with five points each.

Win over Rochester

The Chelsea boys downed Rochester, 73-44, in boy’s basketball Monday, Jan. 12.

Chelsea came out slow, and Rochester took the first lead. Chelsea picked it up in the second and third quarter, stepping up their offense and pressuring the ball.

Chelsea held the lead at halftime by seven points and from there out they held the lead.

The scoring was spread out, as Zeb Allen was Chelsea’s high scorer with 14 points, Jordan Lyford chipped in 11 and McCarthy and Nate Dowlin scored 10 points each.

Chelsea’s record improves to 11-6 and they will host Concord Friday on their senior night.
