The Many Faces
Of a Snowstorm

Herald Photography by Bob Eddy

Winter comes in many forms. Images on the B-1 page of the print edition remind us that deep snow provides numerous opportunities for work and recreation.

For some, like Gary Curley, skiing at VTC’s ski hill, recreation can become work—one moment Curley was carving tele-turns in the powder; the next moment he was buried in it.

Others around town had fun working (or perhaps some just worked).

Town and state crews worked overtime clearing mountains of snow. Skip Sjobeck threw the drifting snow—one more time—back out of the way.

Railway worker Rick Boucher of Westminster cleared switches on the track up and down the line.
