RANDOLPH CENTER—James H. LaPlante, 39, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. He was born April 14, 1967 in Randolph, the son of Clinton H. and Catherine (Carney) LaPlante. He attended Randolph schools and graduated from Randolph Union High School in 1985. Following high school, he attended art school in Manchester, N.H. After his schooling he served his electrician’s apprenticeship with Richard’s Electric in Wilder. He was pursuing his master electrician’s license when he got ill. He had also worked with Greg Bahr, in Bethel, making topograhical and 3-D maps. He loved doing art work especially sculpture. He also liked to hunt and fish with his brothers. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Catherine and Frank Kulig of Leicester; and three brothers: Clinton LaPlante III of Hancock, Allan LaPlante of Rutland and Shane LaPlante of Randolph Center. He was predeceased by his father. Memorial services were held Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Day Funeral Home, with Pastor Thomas Harty officiating. Several family members and friends shared remembrances. A time of food and fellowship followed at the Braintree Town Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1460, Williston, Vt. 05495.
