Rosella N. Brown

WINDSOR—Rosella N. "Rose" Brown, 82, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 at Mt. Ascutney Hospital & Health Center’s Skilled Nursing Facility in Windsor.

She was born January 25, 1925 in Rutland, daughter of Eugene and Nellie (Holden) Stoodley. She attended schools in Rutland, Rochester and Bethel.

She married Russell A. Brown in Bethel, October 4, 1941. She was employed at several stores and factories over the years. She enjoyed listening to country music, reading and cooking. She lived in Rochester for many years, where she attended the Federated Church.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1988, two brothers, Urban Stoodley and Raymond Stoodley; and two sisters, Grace Blanchard and Ida Holden Varnum.

Survivors include two daughters, Rosalie Taggart of Pahrump, Nev.; and Connie Bedell of Windsor; one son, Eugene Brown of Perkinsville; three sisters: Jean Rhoades of Rochester, Edith Lewis of Castleton, and Audrey Garrow of East Wallingford; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rochester will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may e made tot he Skilled Nursing Facility at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center, 289 County Road, Windsor, Vt. 05089; or to the Valley Rescue Squad, 227 Route 100, Hancock, Vt. 05748.

The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor is in charge of arrangements.
