Tordis McDade THATCHER, UTAH- Tordis "Tori" B. McDade, 41, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital of a ruptured aneurysm. She was born May 7, 1965 in Randolph, the daughteer of Bjorn and Edith (Patterson) Wagones. She went to school in Randolph Center and Randolph and learned to play violin and viola in the Green Mountain Strings. An accomplished violist, she had been chosen to participate in Vermont All-State and All-New England Festivals. Recently, when asked about her fondest memory of her years in Vermont, she said it was going with her friend, Anne Pietryka, to the South Royalton summer band concerts where Anne played flute and Tordis played tenor sax. Having graduated from Randolph Union High School in 1983, she entered Weber State College in Ogden Utah where she studied music and electronics. Early in 1986, she and Munir Shamkhi were married in a civil ceremony in Odgen, followed by a religious ceremony and reception at her home in Vermont. Their marriage ended in divorce, as did her later marriage to Tim Strand. In 2002 she married Terry D. McDade. Her hobbies included metal detecting, charity motorcycle rides, vacations riding through the western states on her Harley with her husband and daughter, and attending Double Diamond auctions. She was a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association, past president of Trails West Artifact Society and past historian for the Northern Utah Chapter of the Harley Owners Group. She was a drafter for Stone River Bronze Company. Survivors include her husband, of Thatcher, Utah; one son, Sami of Renton, Wash.; one daughter, Angela Jean Strand of Thatcher; and her mother, Edith ("Pat") of Randolph Center. She was predeceased by her father, and by a sister, Rose Theresa. Graveside service were held Thursday, Feb. 15 at Linquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in Ogden, Utah. ______________ | |||||
