Robert Fisk

SHARON—Robert Lewis Harold Fisk, 61, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 2007, at his home on Fay Brook Road.

He was born October 29, 1945, in Hanover, N.H., the son of Franklin L. and Dorothea (Copithorn) Fisk Sr. He lived his entire life in Sharon. He was a hard worker right from the start. As a young boy, he helped his father with the daily chores on their family farm. He was milking at the age of five, and continued to help on the farm all through grade school, during high school and while he studied at college.

He graduated from South Royalton High School in 1961 and earned his first of two degrees from Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center in 1966. He received his second associates degree in Agri-Business in 1980.

He married Charlotte Braley May 31, 1969, in the Hartford Congregational Church in Hartford Village. Together they built a home in Sharon and raised and educated three children. In 1981, he bought his first truck and started a trucking business.

He enjoyed the outdoors. He liked hunting, farming, and mowing his lawn, which got larger each year. He could tell a good story and was known for his sense of humor. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Sharon and liked visiting with folks. But his greatest joy was his family.

Survivors include his wife of Sharon; two sons, R. Benjamin Fisk of Evanston, Ill., and J. Daniel Fisk of Prospect Heights, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth Fisk Roth of Deer Park, Ill.; three sisters, Caroline Barnaby of Tunbridge, Sharon Fisk of Hardwick, and Kathleen DeSpain of Herriman, Utah; two brothers, Nelson Fisk of Palmer, Mass., and James Fisk of Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Fisk.

A memorial service was held Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 20, at the Sharon Congregational Church in Sharon. A fellowship gathering was held immediately following the church service at the Sharon Elementary School. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Food Shelf, in care of Carol Sheldon, 383 Beaver Meadow Road, Sharon, Vt., 05065.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home of Chelsea.
