First-Ever ‘Mini Mud!’ Show Premieres at Chandler March 9

The Chandler Center for the Arts will present its first-ever "Mini Mud!" show Friday, March 9 at 7 p.m. at Chandler Music Hall in Randolph. Mini Mud! will feature the talents of over 75 talented youth and teens from the Central Vermont area.

Chandler’s Betsy Cantlin notes that, "The idea for this show was birthed at last year’s auditions for the Mud Season Variety Show. So many skilled acts showed up that it was impossible to include them all in one evening of entertainment. Many of the acts were talented youth and it was obvious that there was enough interest in this type of show to warrant another offering. Little did we know how much interest there would be!"

The March 9 performance will offer 22 acts, including dance, song, story and joke telling, skits, drumming, piano, cello, bagpipe and guitar. Acts range in size from solo performers to a chorus of 24, and feature performers ranging in age from six to 18.

Participants are coming from near and far, including the towns of Randolph, Randolph Center, Braintree, Bethel, Brookfield, Rochester, Gaysville, Williamstown, Sharon, South Royalton, Northfield, Barre, Berlin, Tunbridge and West Corinth. Area teens will be on hand to help to introduce the acts, and Chandler’s teen tech assistants will be hard at work behind the scenes.

"Mini Mud!" is a fundraiser for the youth programming offered at Chandler throughout the year. Tickets for this performance are available by calling 728-6464 between 3-6 p.m. weekdays, at tickets@chandler-arts.org, or at the door.

This celebration of youth is sponsored by Chandler, Champ Radio and Patrick’s Place. Chandler Music Hall is wheelchair accessible.
