The White River Craft Center is located in the historic Kimball House of Randolph Avenue. For the past five years public and private funds have contributed to the restoration of this Victorian Mansion and much has been done, but there still is so much to do to complete the project. For the first time, the Craft Center is listed in the appropriations in the Randolph Town Budget for a request of $3500. The Craft Center is a non-profit organization, (501c3), so donations, when applicable, are tax-deductible, but it is not tax-exempt. This means that because so much of the Kimball House has been renovated and improved, the current Randolph tax bill is over $9000. During the renovation process the public has access to the building by taking classes in various art mediums. The Central Vermont office of the Department of Labor is located here to make their resources more accessible to area residents. During the school year the building trades students from Randolph Technical Career Center are learning various construction skills by actually using the Kimball House as their classroom. The yearly open house brings visitors who are impressed with the work that has been done and excitement to see it completed and fulfill its promise to become even more of a community resource. Your earlier support to place the White River Craft Center, Kimball House, request on the ballot is appreciated. As President of the Board and a fellow Randolph tax-payer, I’m asking you to please vote YES for our request. Thank You. Susan Mann Randolph ____________ |
