Chamber’s Casino Night
Beats the Odds! The Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce held its sixth annual Casino Night Saturday, March 31 at Vermont Technical College. Morey Dining Hall was again transformed into a Casino-like atmosphere with sparkling signs, lights and attire. Many people participated in this event, including sponsors, prize donors and patrons (see "Thank You" ad elsewhere in this issue of the Herald). In addition, there were many volunteers who made the event possible from planning with the committee, to decorating that took place early in the day and then executing the games. Table dealers were Joe Boyd, Charlie and Heather Burnett, Randy and Lee Burnett, Jack Cowdrey, Gerry Crothers, Bob Eddy, Ted Elzey, Pam Nickle, Jen Niebling, Rob Niebling, Larry Olsson, Jim and Sharon Sault and Bob and Rose Wright. Robin Palmer manned the Roulette wheel, Crystal Campbell and Andrea Armstrong were cashiers, Mona Colton sold 50/50 raffle tickets, Rita Hull and Mary Ann Williams sold tear-off tickets, and Rachel Irish sold entry tickets with Lynn Irish. Marty Strange was the barker and Julie Nelson assisted him with door prize announcements and advertising. Ken Perry and daughter Cassie presided over the door prize drawings, while Dave Colton was a floater, assisting wherever needed. Bob Eddy was also the photographer and Rob Niebling was the auctioneer. Gary Irish and Karen Warner helped decorate and set up. The "chips only" auction was the highlight of the event. Many participants who had chips at the end of the evening were able to use them to bid on the large number of auction prizes that were donated or sponsored. The top prize was a trip to Las Vegas or a cash option, won by Matthew Holbrook. The 50-50 raffle winner was Tina Ashley. Casino Night Committee members were Mona Colton, chairperson, Ted Elzey, Lynn Irish, chamber director, Clark Leonard, Ashley Lincoln and Rob Niebling. ____________ |
