Our past legislatures in the state of Vermont have let us in the stone age, as far as public transportation is concerned. Now the current legislature wants to cut the budget and bring it back to the ice age. This state needs to wake up and realize public transportation helps everyone. The everyday working man and woman can use it for traveling to and from work. It especially helps those of us who cannot drive, like the elderly and disabled, when we need to go to our doctor appointments for things like cancer treatment, kidney dialysis and many other ailments. Public transportation also helps us to get our basic necessities for everyday living such as our necessary medications and grocery shopping. Without public transportation many of us, the elderly, disabled, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, would have no way to do these simple, everyday things, that others take for granted and we would get left behind.
