Robinson Presented With Medallion Maya Robinson of Bethel, a senior at Whitcomb High School, has been officially presented with an engraved silver medallion to signify her selection as one of Vermont’s top two youth volunteers for 2007 in The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. The presentation took place Tuesday, April 10, during an awards assembly in the gymnasium at Whitcomb High School. As a state honoree, Robinson also will receive $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip in early May to Washington, D.C., where she will join more than 100 other top honorees from across the country for several days of national recognition events. Ten of them will be named America’s top youth volunteers for 2007 at that time. Robinson is being honored for creating an exhibit of photographs taken by 20 international exchange students over the past 35 years, to promote greater understanding of foreign cultures and the interconnectedness of people around the world. A skilled photographer, she began planning her exhibit two years ago, before spending a year in India as a Rotary International Exchange Student. ____________ . |
