CVPS President
Thanks Patrons

As Central Vermont Public Service crews, outside contractors and mutual aid crews continue to restore service to our customers across the region, I want to thank everyone for the patience and understanding they have shown.

I also want to remind everyone to take every precaution to ensure their safety and the safety of their families and our workers.

Please treat all downed power lines as if they are live. Stay away from them, and keep your children and pets away too. If you use a generator, follow the owner's manual to ensure your safety and the safety of line workers. Check on neighbors to be sure they are OK, especially those who are elderly or who have special needs.

The storm damage we are facing is unprecedented in recent history, with dozens of broken poles, hundreds upon hundreds of downed trees and lines, and substantial damage to both our transmission and distribution systems.

Although we have brought in dozens of outside line and tree crews to assist us, and are making steady progress, full restoration will likely take until the end of the week.

That said, customers have been very supportive. They have offered meals, drinks and kind words to our crews, who are working very long hours to restore power, and that is deeply appreciated.

We understand that lengthy power outages can be frustrating for customers, but we are heartened by the positive comments and support we have received over the past couple of days, and we are committed to restoring service to everyone as quickly as it can be safely done.

Bob Young, President
