Ag Secretary Allbee at VTC For Environmental Forum

Agency of Agriculture Secretary Roger Allbee will speak at a breakfast forum Tuesday, May 1, 8-10 a.m. at Morey Student Center Conference Room, Vermont Technical College.

Presented by Vermont Environmental Consortium, the event will focus on Vermont agriculture in the context of urgent environmental issues.

It's an opportunity for farmers, farm program administrators, environmental business people, and educators to meet personally with the secretary, hear about new developments at the agency, and exchange views on topics of interest.

Following a presentation by Sec. Allbee, there will be time for questions and comments from attendees.

Environmental issues such as climate change, renewable energy policy, pollution runoff and others increasingly affect Vermont's agricultural economy.

Among Allbee's topics will be the potentials of energy crops as revenue sources for farmers and how environmental regulations affect farmers, and agency policies and programs.
