DRB Has Full Slate for Tuesday Meeting
The Randolph Development Review Board will consider eight applications when it meets on Tuesday, May 29- including one for a 24-lot subdivision in East Randolph.
Also on the agenda are applications for a shed manufacturing facility, also in East Randolph, an outside lift at Wiggett's Auto on Route 66 in Randolph Center, and an eight-unit townhouse project at the former gelatin factory building on Weston Street.
24-lot Subdivision
East Randolph Meadows Corporation and Barnboard LLC would like to build 24 single-family homes on nearly 20 acres of land it owns off Route 14 in East Randolph. The application requests a lot line adjustment in addition to subdivision review and Act 250 approval.
Act 250 approval was granted in the past for a proposal to construct four buildings, each containing six condominiums on the same land. The property is in the East Village and Rural Use-5 Districts.
Manufacturing and Roofing
Also in East Randolph, James Paroline has requested site plan and local Act 250 reviews for a 50 x 130 foot metal building that would house a business which would manufacture metal sheds and sell metal roofing material. The building would be constructed at 84 Faith Walk Lane off Route 14. The property is in the East Village District.
Two Decks at Messier's Store
Joel and Amy Messier wish to add two decks to their East Randolph store- one at first-floor level for use by customers, and another at second-story level for their own use, with access from their residence above the store. Because of the proximity of the decks to the nearby Second Branch, a variance request is required as well as a site plan review. The property is in both the East Village and Conservation Districts.
Wiggett's Auto
Adam Wiggett would like to add an outdoor vehicle lift at his business at 4669 Route 66 for use in the vehicle undercoating service he provides using a biodegradable, lanolin-based material.
Also, he would like to expand the capacity of his sales lot from seven to 13 vehicles.
Because of the alterations, a conditional use permit is required as well as a site plan review.
The property is owned by Perry and Lynn Armstrong and is in the Rural Use 5 District.
Gelatin Factory Townhouses
With the intent of converting the building at 17 Weston Street into eight living units, BEG, Ltd. is requesting a variance from minimum lot size requirements. The project requires conditional use and site plan reviews as well. The property is in the Commercial District.
Transfer Tanks on Hedding Drive
Robert and Linda Dimmick have requested a site plan to install two outdoor tanks for reclaimed water storage at their existing wastewater recycling facility. The property is in the Industrial District.
Completing the DRB's agenda is a two-lot subdivision request from Jonathan and Dawn Walters at 550 Rogers Road, and a subdivision request for a lot line adjustment between four properties on Salt Box Road. The adjoining properties are owned by Hugo and Cynthia Liepmann, Kevin and Susan O'Donoghue, and Michael and Julie Tragner.
Both the Rogers Road and the Salt Box Road properties are in the Rural Use 5 District.
The public hearing on these applications on will begin at 7 p.m. in Old Dorm Lounge at Vermont Technical College.
