Lady Royals

Continue Winning

By Monica Parshley

The South Royalton girls have continued their winning streak for the last couple of weeks. On May 14, the girls traveled to Morrisville to play Peoples Academy. It was a battle of the pitchers.

In the third inning, Logan Russell managed to hit a ball that scored in Chelsea Wilmot. SoRo kept up a good defense, preventing any scoring from Peoples. The Lady Royals won the game 1-0.

The next day, on May 15 at Whitcomb, was a rather rough game, but Soro prevailed. South Royalton scored one run in the third inning, and stayed with that until the sixth, when they added three more runs. Whitcomb didn’t score at all until Molly Taylor got home in the seventh inning. SoRo won the game, 4-1.

On Monday, May 22, South Royalton played against Thetford at home. Thetford had certainly improved defensively since their last game, drastically reducing the amount of runs that SoRo received. The girls got back their fighting spirit, playing hard which culminated in an 8-0 win.

Final Games

South Royalton’s next game is a double-header at Proctor on Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. Their last game of the regular season is on Monday, May 28, at 2 p.m.
