One-Man Play on W.B. Yeats

At LNT, One Night Only

The spirit of William Butler Yeats will haunt the Lost Nation Theater stage Wednesday, June 6, with a one-night performance of "Fastened to a Dying Animal: a Portrait of William Butler Yeats," written and performed by Rick Foster.

Foster is also the author of "Vivien," the play about the life of Vivien Leigh, currently running at LNT.

Lost Nation Theater continues its 30th anniversary season with this special event. The show offers insights into one of Ireland’s greatest poets—one who knew the power of love, and the power of the people—and was the father of its national theater.

"Fastened to a Dying Animal" is Foster’s tribute to this great Celtic poet and playwright. The production illuminates the connections between Yeats’ life and his work. Excerpts of many favorite Yeats poems are woven into the text.

The 7 p.m. performance, June 6, at Lost Nation Theater in Montpelier’s City Hall Auditorium Arts Center, will be followed by discussion.
