Baby Avry’s The Tunbridge Memorial Day festivities got a little extra excitement on Monday when Jen Loftus of Tunbridge, nine months pregnant, went into labor in the middle of the parade while riding in the fire truck with husband Matt Loftus and nephew, Eli Ferro. Undeterred, Jen continued to toss candy, since you only get about 15 seconds of fame in the short parade route. Then the truck was rather quickly abandoned on the fairgrounds as the expectant parents were hospital-bound. Obviously, the New Addition didn't want to miss out on the fun, (or else she confused Memorial Day with Labor Day). Avry Diana Loftus was born at 8:30 that evening, at Dartmouth hospital, weighing 7 lbs. 2 oz. Although, she missed out on the chicken BBQ this year, no doubt she'll be riding along with the Fire Department in next year's parade. Proud grandparents are Rob and Diana Loftus of South Royalton, and Butch and Jane Howe of Tunbridge. Welcome Baby Avry! |
